Madhu Mohan Katikineni, MD, is an NIH-trained endocrinologist with extensive research background. He has been practicing for over 40 years in Maryland.
Dr. Mohan is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and Endocrinology & Metabolism.
He served as Chief of Endocrinology at Doctors Hospital and Prince Georges Hospital. He also served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Doctors Hospital. Dr. Mohan was the Director of the Joslin Diabetes Center at Doctors, an affiliate of the Joslin Diabetes center, Harvard Medical school, Boston.
Dr. Mohan is Vice Chair of the DCH Foundation Board. In this capacity, he promotes diabetes wellness in the community. He participated in several important clinical trials for the prevention of kidney disease in diabetes patients, and the prevention of blindness using artificial intelligence point-of-care tools. He also contributed to the understanding of radiation in adult thyroid cancer, and conducted studies that proved that bisphosphonates were safe for use by women with osteoporosis.
Recently, Dr. Mohan and his colleagues have initiated a Diabetes Prevention Program under the CDC guidelines.
