Riverside Diabetes is helping people prevent Type 2 Diabetes. It has joined forces with the nationally-recognized Center for Disease Control Diabetes Prevention Program (CDC/DPP), and the State of Maryland, to develop and deliver this program.
Riverside Diabetes looks forward to working with you to prevent you or a loved one from developing Diabetes Type 2.
Delivered by a trained team of lifestyle coaches, our Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) has proven to be successful in Preventing Diabetes Type 2. This program is designed to offer participants several avenues to achieve long-term success.
DPP combines a desktop portal and a mobile app program, to offer you self-paced learning. We also provide group support by bringing participants together on video conference calls.
This two-pronged approach of online self-paced learning and group meetings was developed by the State of Maryland, by utilizing CDC/DPP guidelines. This is a lifestyle change program that we offer nationally.
Please call us, and we will add you to our upcoming cohort. Thereafter, we will use the DPP HALT program—and the HALT mobile app—to connect with you.
Learn how to make lasting lifestyle changes, such as eating healthier, adding physical activity into your daily routine, and improving coping skills. This proven program has made a difference in many lives. Let us make a difference in yours.
Diabetes Prevention Program was a major multicenter clinical research study. The intervention involved a lifestyle change program focusing on calorie reduction and increasing physical activity to at least 150 minutes per week.
Results from the study showed that this structured lifestyle change program, in which participants achieved weight loss of 5 to 7 percent of their body weight (10 to 14 pounds for a person weighing 200 pounds), reduced the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58 percent in adults at high risk for the disease.
