Established a solo practice for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Prince George's County, Maryland
1994
Built the largest integrated multispecialty network in three counties — Prince George’s, Montgomery and Ann Arundel — which included a primary care & specialty network

Built a sophisticated, in-house clinical lab serving 12 locations in three counties
1995
Initiated full time renal care. Evaluation of complex kidney diseases, renal biopsy, transplant referrals and post-transplant management. Acute & chronic dialysis offered via hospital and community-based dialysis centers.
1996
Established Riverside Clinical Research Center for participating in several clinical trials in Diabetes, Osteoporosis and Hypertension
1997
Built diagnostic center that includes an X-ray facility, MRI, CT and Nuclear medicine
2001
Built the first multi-specialty AAA Accredited ambulatory surgery center in Prince George’s County
2005
Established Riverside Eye center.
2013
Director of Joslin Diabetes Center affilliate, at the Doctors Community Hospital. The center was affilliated with Harvard Medical School.
2017
Participated in a pivotal study using Artificial Intelligence to diagnose Dibetes retinopathy at point-of-care. The study led to FDA approval for first-time use in the United States, followed by CPT codes for its clinical use.
2020
Joined and established a successful Diabetes Prevention Program under CDC guidelines.
Dr. Madhu K Mohan
Biography
Madhu Mohan Katikineni, MD, is an NIH-trained endocrinologist with extensive research background. He has been practicing for over 40 years in Maryland.
Dr. Mohan is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and Endocrinology & Metabolism.
He served as Chief of Endocrinology at Doctors Hospital and Prince George's Hospital. He also served as the Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Doctors Hospital. Dr. Mohan was the Director of the Joslin Diabetes Center at Doctors, an affiliate of the Joslin Diabetes center, Harvard Medical school, Boston.
Dr. Mohan is Vice Chair of the DCH Foundation Board. In this capacity, he promotes diabetes wellness in the community. He participated in several important clinical trials for the prevention of kidney disease in diabetes patients, and the prevention of blindness using artificial intelligence point-of-care tools. He also contributed to the understanding of radiation in adult thyroid cancer, and conducted studies that proved that bisphosphonates were safe for use by women with osteoporosis.
Recently, Dr. Mohan and his colleagues have initiated a Diabetes Prevention Program under the CDC guidelines.
